Impar Italiano (imparitaliano.com) is a free Italian-learning website and a set of YouTube channels operated by Mohamed Mbarek. This page explains what data the website and the related YouTube publishing application handle. The short version: the website has no accounts, sets no tracking cookies and runs no analytics. Browsing it gives us nothing. The one exception is the early-access list: if you choose to enter your email address to be told when a learning resource is released, we store that address and the little that goes with it, described in section 2.
1. Data the website collects
- No accounts. You do not register or log in to use the site, and browsing it does not require an email address. Joining the early-access list is the only place the site asks for one, and it is optional — every lesson, preview and free download works without it.
- No tracking, no analytics. The site loads no analytics, advertising or social-media tracking scripts and sets no tracking cookies.
- Preferences in your browser only. The site stores two settings in your browser's local storage: the pronunciation voice you picked and whether you dismissed the "install the app" banner. This data never leaves your device and you can delete it at any time by clearing your browser data for imparitaliano.com.
- Pronunciation audio is generated by your own browser's speech engine; no recording or text is sent to us.
- Server logs. Like any website, the hosting provider that serves imparitaliano.com may keep standard technical logs (IP address, browser type, requested page, time) for security and reliability. They are not used to identify or profile visitors.
2. The early-access list
Some learning resources are not released yet. On those pages you can ask to be told when one becomes available. That is the only feature of this website that collects personal data, and it is entirely optional.
- What we store. The email address you type, which resource you asked about, the site language you were reading in, the page you signed up from, and — if you arrived from a campaign link — the campaign parameters in that link (source, medium, campaign, content). We also record that you ticked the consent box, the wording version you agreed to, and when.
- What we do not store. No name, no phone number, no country, no date of birth, no payment details. Nothing is collected unless you type it and tick the box: the box is never pre-ticked.
- Why. To email you when that resource is released, and to see which resources and which languages learners actually want, so we build those first. It is not used to profile you.
- Where it is stored. In a PostgreSQL database on a server we rent in Germany, reached over an encrypted connection. It is not shared with, sold to, or rented to anyone.
- Email sending. No email has been sent from this list yet — there is no email provider connected to it at the time of writing. When one is added, this page will name it before any message is sent, and every email will carry an unsubscribe link.
- Leaving. Ask us at any time and your address is removed. If you unsubscribe, that choice is recorded and kept: it is never quietly undone, including if the same address is submitted again later.
- How long. Until you ask us to remove it, or until the resource has launched and the list has served its purpose — whichever comes first. Addresses that never confirmed and never engaged are deleted at the point the list is closed.
No payment is taken anywhere on this website. Joining the list does not create an order, reserve a purchase or oblige you to buy anything.
3. Links to YouTube and other sites
The site links to the Impar Italiano YouTube channels and to third-party learning resources. When you open those links, the privacy policy of the destination (for example Google/YouTube) applies. We do not embed third-party players or widgets that would track you on our pages.
4. The Impar Italiano YouTube publishing application
"Impar Italiano Youtube" is a Google OAuth application used exclusively by the owner of this project to publish lessons to the owner's own YouTube channels (Impar Italiano in Arabic, English, French, Spanish, Portuguese, German and Turkish). It requests the YouTube Data API permissions needed to upload videos, schedule them and manage the channels' playlists and metadata.
- It is used only with the owner's own Google accounts and channels. It never accesses, stores or shares data of website visitors or of other YouTube users.
- The access tokens it uses are stored only on the owner's own computer, are never shared with third parties and can be revoked at any time at myaccount.google.com/permissions.
- The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
5. Children
The website does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children; there is nothing to collect.
6. Your rights and contact
Since we hold no personal data about you, there is nothing to access, correct or delete on our side; browser preferences are under your control. For any question about this policy, write to med.mbarek.isi@gmail.com.
7. Changes
If the website ever starts collecting data (for example an optional account or analytics), this page will be updated before that change goes live, with a new effective date.
